We first met at the beginning of our master’s program in Utrecht on September 11th, 2020. The funny part? Alex noticed Jana right away at a student gathering, but Jana didn’t even realize he was there — she invited everyone to dinner except him! He eventually got her attention and talked almost until the end of the master’s program, but life drifted us apart. Despite that rocky start, we reconnected about a year later, and things fell into place naturally.

Since then, we’ve shared a home, a dog named Snoopy, and many adventures together. What started as a random encounter in a park has turned into something truly special. We’re thrilled to be taking this next step and can’t wait to celebrate with all of you!

Yes, Alex is right — I didn’t notice him at the student gathering, but for the record, everyone was invited to dinner!

A few months later, after working on some class projects together and exchanging texts, Alex sent me a screenshot of my profile picture with an arrow pointing at my face while talking to someone (Chevis).

I had no idea what that was about, and Alex got embarrassed, so he invited me for coffee — as friends, or so I thought.

We ended up dating for a few beautiful months until the idiot broke my heart!

So, apart from these "small" details that he simply forgets, the rest he says is true.

Now, four years after we met for the first time, we are officially married and are looking forward to celebrating the start of our new chapter with you =)
